During the 51st and 52nd year of SEAGS and AGSSEA, special Issues of the Journal will be released in a number of areas: one of them is Forensic Geotechnical Engineering. The Lead Guest Editor is Dr. G L Sivakumar Babu, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 560012 INDIA. Our in-house editor Prof. San Shyan Lin will also work on this Issue with Prof. Sivakumar Babu. The TC on Forensic Geotechnical Engineering is there in ISSMGE since 2005. Forensic geotechnical engineering involves scientific, legalistic investigations and deductions to detect the causes as well as the process of distress in a structure, which are attributed to geotechnical origin.

The papers for this Issue will be selected from the 5th International Conference on Forensic Geotechnical Engineering to be held in Bangalore at the Indian Institute of Science during 8 to 10 December 2016. The conference is co-hosted by the Indian Geotechnical Society in association with the ISSMGE TC on Forensic Geotechnical Engineering, and ASCE and DFI.
